Gabriel Ruiz

J. Gabriel Ruiz joined Peschard Sverdrup International from Mexican mining company Grupo Mexico, where he served as an analyst in the corporate security office. During his five year tenure with that company he collected and analyzed information in order to identify risks and opportunities for corporate decision-making. Prior to working in the private sector, Mr. Ruiz served in the Mexican government for close to a decade. During his government service, he was an analysts and policy advisor to Mexico’s ministry of government and the ministry of public security. Before working in the executive branch, Mr. Ruiz had been a legislative director in the Mexican congress, where he focused on socio-political issues.

Mr. Ruiz has been a professor and lecturer on national security, domestic politics and international relations at various Mexican academic institutions such as the Monterrey Institute for Superior Studies (ITESM) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He has Master’s degree in Political Communication and Governance from George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM), and a B.A. in international relations from Mexico’s National Autonomous University (UNAM). He also holds a diploma in Mexican political analysis and national security.
